Hi, I'm Kevin. I'm a software engineer in Palo Alto. I like puzzles, number theory, linguistics, science fiction, and the color orange.

• Category theory for Java developers: an explanation of the cheeky phrase "A monad is a monoid in the category of endofunctors", for programmers familiar with Java (or a C++/Java-like language).
• Project Euler library and solutions: I enjoy solving Project Euler problems, and have solved over 800 problems. (Github)
• Cubic formula song: in the same tune as the quadratic formula song (Pop goes the Weasel).

Other

• Fruit Box bot: a bot to play and achieve a perfect score in the game Fruit Box. (Github)
• Terraforming Mars in one generation: is it possible to win a game of Terraforming Mars in a single generation (if you're sufficiently lucky)?
